Paragon Training League grand-finals 2009-10
Tue, 9 Mar 2010SORRENTO-Duncraig has won the Division One Paragon Training League premiership for 2009-10, after a thrilling victory over Landsdale in last weekend’s grand-final.
Landsdale made amends by winning the premiership in the Paragon Training League Division Two, after a convincing win over Joondalup-Kinross in the season decider on Sunday.
A large crowd gathered to watch the Division One final and was treated to an outstanding game of cricket.
NSCCA President and officiating umpire Tim Park described the contest as one of the best he had witnessed.
Chasing 200 to win, a boundary was struck to give the Vikings victory then the final wicket was taken next ball; although it was first believed the final scores were tied.
A tie would have given the same result, with Sorrento finishing higher on the ladder, but a review of the scorebooks at the end of the match, showed the correct total score to be 201.
