Wolves claim back-to-back Patrons Cup titles

Sun, 21 Feb 2010

JOONDALUP-Kinross upset reigning premiers Sorrento-Duncraig in the grand-final of this season's Patron’s Cup competition.

The win gave the Wolves back-to-back premierships in the Twenty-20 form of the game, after they also upset the Vikings in last season’s grand-final.

In Division Two, Ballajura defeated West Coast by a comfortable margin.

In the Division One final played on Sunday February 14, Sorrento batted first and scored a respectable 4-137.

However, Joondalup passed the score with only two wickets down in the last over, with Ryan Clark scoring a half-century.

Clark was also the hero of last season’s win scoring his maiden century in A-Grade competition.

Patron, the Mayor of Joondalup Troy Pickard, presented the medals to the winning team at the conclusion of the game.

Mayor Pickard said the match was of a high standard and was a credit to the North Suburban Community Cricket Association.
