Seniors and Veterans in Cricket West Grand Finals
Sun, 14 Feb 2010THE North Suburban Community Cricket Association will take on the WA Suburban Turf Cricket Association in the grand finals of this year Cricket West Cup, in the Seniors and the Veterans’ leagues.
The Seniors have the opportunity to win back-to-back titles, after winning the competition in 2008-09.
The Veterans are playing in a grand final for the first time.
The games will be played at the Swan Valley Sporting Club on Sunday February 20.
NSCCA President Tim Park said making consecutive grand finals was something to be proud of.
“In the Seniors it is fantastic that we have made back-to-back finals,” he said.
“We are very much looking forward to meeting Suburban Turf again this year and will be doing all we can to bring the trophy back to the NSCCA again.
“We must not forget our Colts who competed well all summer but unfortunately could not get the wins they needed to compete in this year's finals.
"However we are very supportive of our Colts group and look forward to showing better results next season.
“My thanks go to Xavier Deering for his terrific efforts all through yet another Cricket West campaign.”
The teams for the finals will be announced early in the week.
The NSCCA will also provide a bus to take both teams and officials to the Swan Valley on the day.
