Landsdale Cricket Club turns 80
Tue, 20 Jan 2009THE Landsdale Cricket Club will celebrate its 80th Anniversary with a special function on January 31, at the Warradale Community Centre, Landsdale.
The Club was formed in the 1928/29 season as the Woodville Cricket Club, playing at Woodville Reserve in North Perth. The Club moved to Greenwood in 1976
and in the 1979/80 season changed its name to the Woodville Greenwood Cricket Club, to include the new location. In 1987/88 the Club relocated to Ellersdale Reserve in Warwick to take advantage of Clubrooms. The Club moved again, to Warradale Reserve in Landsdale and was renamed the Landsdale Cricket Club, in the 2002/03 season.
The celebrations begin at 1pm with a player’s lunch.The match will see the Landsdale A Grade side take on Wanneroo. Pre-game presentations take place at 1.45pm with the game itself getting underway at 2.20pm.
With the match due to finish around 7.45pm, other playing members of the North Suburban Cricket Association are invited to come and watch the game at the conclusion of their respective matches and join in the celebrations.
