It was founded as the Wanneroo Cricket Association in 1977, and changed its name to the NSCCA in 2008.

The constitutional objective of the NSCCA is to encourage and foster the game of cricket in every way possible.

The Association enjoys the ongoing support of various local government organisations in its area, and the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) - the peak cricket body in WA.

The NSCCA is linked to the WACA as an affiliated member of Cricket West.
